Marimo moss balls (Cladophora aegagropila) make the perfect desk companion and the most unique of gifts! This glass jar with a cork lid contains a single marimo moss ball, and is decorated with stones (please note the colour of the stones can vary from the one pictured).
Kept in water, these spherical balls of algae continue to grow each year and can live for over 100 years, meaning they can be passed down for generations to come!

Incredibly easy to look after, they only need their water to be changed out every couple of weeks or so, and an occasional gentle squeeze and roll to reshape them.

Position somewhere with bright, indirect sun to light / medium shade. Never place in strong sun otherwise the Marimo will fade in colour and be cooked inside the jar with the increase in temperature!
Aim for somewhere with an even temperature, so not too cold and not too hot!
Change the water out every two weeks or so (tap water is fine), and give the marimo a gentle squeeze under the running water just to clean them before popping them back into their vessel!
